Lennon Bhagwandin is currently the Director of Academic Support and the Course Director for the Learning Enhancement Course (LEC). Lennon joined AUC’s campus in St. Maarten in September of 2017, and brings several years of regional and international professional experience, having previously worked in Texas, New York, the United Kingdom, Dominica, Grenada, and the Cayman Islands. Prior to his current position, he was employed for several years at Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, as the Director of the Academic Enhancement Program. He was a past lecturer at UCCI in the Cayman Islands, and also at TAMCC College and St. George’s University in Grenada, where he grew up. Lennon holds both a Master’s of Education degree and a Master’s of Science degree from Texas Tech University. Lennon’s background in higher education and knowledge of the basic sciences is being used to develop and expand the offerings of Academic Support at AUC. As the Course Director for the Learning Enhancement Course (LEC), he has designed the curriculum to address the academic needs of struggling medical students. He currently organizes and conducts academic workshops, in addition to facilitating small-group sessions that emphasize learning skills and academic success strategies. Lennon performs crisis intervention management for students facing academic and personal challenges, including individual diagnostic assessments. He also supervises and coordinates a tutoring program which serves AUC’s entire student population to help students succeed.
