Dr. Nagla HagOmer is a general dentist and public health specialist with over 15 years of experience in the dental field. She is currently working at Primary Health Care Cooperation (PHCC), Doha- Qatar as GD. Dr. Nagla received her dental degree from the University of Science and Technology, Khartoum-Sudan, 2007 School of Dentistry. Later she earned her Master of Science in Orthodontics from Danube Private University, Krems- Austria 2021. Her 2nd major master degree is in public health from the University of Limerick, Limerick -Ireland, 2023, School of Public Health. Currently she is working to gain her Membership in Orthodontics (MOrth) from RCSI. In addition to the dental profession and public health community, she’s actively involved in research and teaching. Dr. HagOmer is a passionate educator and mentor where she has trained the dental students of Qatar University – dental school and interns back in Sudan in both the fields of public health dentistry and community-based oral health care. She is a strong advocate for preventive dentistry and public health programs that promote oral health. Dr. Nagla is also committed to training the next generation of dental professionals and public health professionals. Beside that she participated in many research projects and programs with international organizations and national institutions focused on developing and evaluating interventions to improve oral health equity among underserved populations. Currently she is being an authored or co-authored on 10 under publishing on a wide range of topics related to pediatric dentistry and orthodontics and oral health equity, including access to care, oral health behavior and attitude.
Dr. Nagla Specific Research Area of interest includes: oral health of migrants refuges and asylum seekers globally, oral health disparities, public health interventions, social determinants of oral health, oral health and chronic diseases, oral health policy and advocacy and AI in orthodontics and pediatric dentistry.
