Ghassan Skaf, MD, FRCSC, FACS is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at Saint Joseph University, Beirut, Lebanon. He did his internship and residency training at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), USA, University of Toronto, Canada and Cleveland Clinic Foundation, USA. He then completed a fellowship in Spinal Neurosurgery at University of Toronto, Canada. Dr. Skaf has been practicing since 1998 at the American University of Beirut Medical Center and he is the Head of the Neurosurgery Department since 2006 till today. Dr. Skaf is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American Board of Neurological Surgery. The research interests of Dr. Skaf are in Spinal Cord Injuries, Complex Spine Surgeries, Neuro Navigation, and New Innovations in Spine Surgery, Spinal Instrumentation and Minimally Invasive Spinal Surgeries. Dr. Skaf has received several awards and recognitions from international societies. The last recognition was the Mexican “Legion of Honor” for his services in the medical and scientific fields.
