Kim San Tang is a lecturer at Monash University Malaysia. He received the degree of Doctor of Philosophy from the Department of Pharmacology of the University of Alberta in Canada. He worked as a research fellow at the Division of Neurodegenerative Disorders of the St. Boniface General Hospital Research Centre in Winnipeg, Canada prior to joining Monash University Malaysia in 2009. He received several national and international awards such as a scholarship award from the International Society of Neurochemistry, and the ‘Focus on Stroke’ Postdoctoral Fellowship Award from the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. His main research interest focuses on the mechanisms underlying the brain cell death in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and stroke.
Research interest include: Drug discovery; neuroscience; pharmaceutical biology.
