Currently he is working in IIT Madras as a Post Doctoral Fellow in Department of Biotechnology. He did his M.Sc., and M.Phil., degree in Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli and he completed his Doctoral degree (Ph.D., Marine Biotechnology) in CAS in Marine Biology, Annamalai University. He has published 23 research papers in International Peer Reviewed Journals and also, he was acted as a Guest Reviewer in 20 International Peer Reviewed Journals. His area of interest in Marine Natural Products to investigate the chemical characterization, screening various biomedical applications and Toxicology aspect from metabolites of Marine Flora and Fauna.

Dr.M.Moovendhan research interest includes Bioactive Marine Natural Products; Metabolites and Biopolymers; in vitro biological activities; Anticancer; Antibacterial; Antioxidant; Antiviral; Cardioprotective; Neuroprotective; Hepatoprotective.
