Dr.Gulzar Ahmad Nayik is currently working as Assistant Professor (contractual), in Department of Food Science & Technology, Govt. Degree College, Shopian, J&K, India. He completed his Masters Degree in Food Technology from IUST, Awantipora, J&K, India and PhD from SLIET, Punjab, India. He has published more than 42 research/review articles and 10 book chapters. He has attended 13 International/ National/conferences, seminars and workshops within and outside India. Dr. Nayik was shortlisted twice for Prestigious INSPIRE-Faculty Award in 2017 and in 2018 from Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi. Recently he was nominated for India’s Prestigious National Award (INSA Medal for Young Scientists-2019). Dr. Nayik is also serving as Editor in Food Biology, Maternal & Pediatric Nutrition, Nutrition & Energy Balance, Associate Editor in International Journal of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences and MOJ Food Processing & Technology while he is also serve as Assistant Editor in Journal of Post Harvest Technology and Food and Nutrition Journal. Dr. Nayik also serves as Editorial Board Member of more than 25 International Journals. He is Potential Peer Reviewer of reputed International Journals related to Food Science and Technology that belong to popular publishing house viz. Elsevier, Taylor-Francis, Wiley, Springer etc. He is also working as member of various associations like WASET, AFSTI and Asian Council of Science Editors. Dr. Nayik is the recipient of “BEST PAPER AWARD” in 2nd International conference on Food Properties (ICFP-2016), held at Bangkok, Thailand in June 2016. He is also the Recipient of International Travel Grant from Department of Science and Technology (India), Recipient of Certificates from Elsevier and Wiley Online for Reviewer Recognition and Recipient of Maulana Azad National Fellowship (MANF-2013-14) from University Grant Commission, New Delhi, India.
His research interest includes Honey; Antioxidants; Neutraceuticals; Functional Foods; Food Chemistry; Food Rheology
